new artist: crystal morey
August 1, 2011
Crystal Morey’s ceramic sculptures are not only incredibly gorgeous, detailed and visually appealing, they examine some important issues regarding humanity versus nature. According to Crystal, she likes to explore the “balance between human necessities and the health of our forests, oceans, mountains, and deserts.” Her work focuses on the fragile nature of the environment, so it’s only appropriate that she works with the incredibly fragile medium of ceramics–a material that, when fired, can so easily be cracked, chipped or completely shattered. Her work is beautiful and though-provoking and I am delighted that she will be the first sculptural artist featured on Paper House Press.
